CHARLESTON, Mass.--A few natural products companies made it onto the Inc. 500annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States.Compiled by Inc. Magazine for its November edition, the list featuredhyper-growth companies, including Portland, Ore.-based Oregon Chai (#18); SanFrancisco-based Jamba Juice (#94); and Berkeley, Calif.-based Clif Bar (#387). Acomparison of last year's results with results from five years prior showedsignificant growth in both revenue and number of employees. Oregon Chai hadrevenues of $201,000 and three employees five years ago; last year, the companyreported $10,654,000 in revenues and 21 employees. Five years ago, Jamba Juicebrought in revenues of $3,111,000 and had 200 employees; last year, the companymustered $69,652,000 in revenues and had 3,000 on its bankroll. And Clif Bar,which had $5,018,000 in revenue and nine employees five year ago, increased itsrevenue to $39,562,000 and number of employees to 75 by last year. This is ClifBar's fourth time on the list.
