NBTY Inc. Makes Deal for Rexall Acquisitions
BOHEMIA, N.Y.--NBTY Inc., www.NBTY.com, a nutritionalsupplement manufacturer and marketer in the United States and the United Kingdom, willacquire the vitamin catalog and mail order division of Rexall Sundown Inc. NBTY signed adefinitive agreement for the acquisition for an undisclosed sum.
"This acquisition will add more than 400,000 active customers to the existing sixmillion customer base of our puritan.com direct response division," said ScottRudolph, chairman and chief executive officer of NBTY. The transaction closed inmid-April, subject to regulatory approvals.
