New Management Structure for Organic Alliance

ST PAUL, Minn.--The Organic Alliance promoted Angela Sternsto executive director after four and a half years as the Alliance's marketing director.The organization also promoted Glory Ramsey from development director to director ofmarketing and development. The promotions come on the heels of the successful Organic FoodCelebration, which the Alliance produced this past September.

In additional Alliance news, former executive director, Ann Woods, has moved into theposition of president of the Organic Alliance. She will continue her role of settinglong-term goals and strategic planning for the Alliance.

Twinlab Adds to Management Team

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.--Twinlab Corporation appointed Thomas Mooy tothe newly created position of vice president corporate development. Mooy's experienceincludes six years with the L. Perrigo Company of Allegan, Mich., where he served as vicepresident South American Business Development in San Paulo, Brazil and on theInternational Executive Team. Mooy was responsible for the start-up and growth ofPerrigo's operations in South America including product sourcing, sales, marketing anddistribution. "We are very pleased to have Tom join our management team," saidRoss Blechman, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Twinlab. "Hisbackground in pharmaceutical and his extensive experience in domestic and internationalbusiness development should play a piviotal role in the future growth of Twinlab."

Spectrum Naturals Hires Director

PETALUMA, Calif.--Spectrum Naturals Inc. hired Frank Scaizoas the director of sales and marketing for the food and beverage division. Scaizo will beresponsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans for the wholesaleand retail trades, new product development and regional sales management. He joins thecompany with 20 years in the natural foods/specialty food trade. His prior position wasvice president of sales and marketing for Ethnic Gourmet Foods and Amy's Kitchen.

Boca Burger Names New Manager

CHICAGO--Bernie Sezon joined the Boca Burger team asnortheast regional sales manager. "Boca Burger has seen tremendous growth over thepast few years and sees even greater opportunity for continued growth ahead," saidDan Curtin, vice president of sales. "Bernie's depth of sales experience in the foodarena, particularly in the northeast, will serve as a real asset to Boca Burger as wecontinue to grow our share of that important region."
