WOODLAND HILLS, N.Y.--Douglas Peabody has joined Weider Publications Inc. as chiefexecutive officer (CEO). Peabody is the founder of the magazines Saveur and GardenDesign. Peabody, who has an MBA and a law degree, was vice chairman of America Online.Weider Publications has 325 employees and seven magazines, with a circulation of fourmillion. "All special interest magazines are really oriented toward passionate andinvolved audiences," Peabody said. "And I think Weider as a company exemplifiesthat in the fitness, beauty and health areas."
