QBI Out of Chapter 11

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J.--Quality Botanical Ingredients (QBI) in mid-September received court approval to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, which the company filed for in July 1999. According to Joseph Schortz, president, QBI has shrunk its net expenses and has had support from its customers and creditors. "QBI's emergence from Chapter 11 proves our strength, resiliency and reliability," he said. "The experience ... forced us to reevaluate every aspect of the business, to focus on the essentials and to create new, more efficient strategies for better serving our customers."

QBI has also patented a cryogenic milling system that it said tripled its production capacity, as well as expanding its value added services such as custom blending. To learn more, visit www.4qbi.com or stop by Booth #1221 at SupplySide West.
