CE Symposium Focuses on Chromium, Insulin Resistance
PURCHASE, N.Y.A newscientific symposium on the role of chromium in insulin resistance was presentedduring the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Diabetes Educators(AADE) as part of AADEs continuing education (CE) program for diabeteseducators.
Program topics covered more than 30 years of laboratory andclinical research, including the need for chromium in normal insulin functionand metabolism, chromiums ability to enhance glucose metabolism, and the waychromium supplementation can enhance insulin sensitivity.
Nutrition 21, the supplier of Chromax® chromium picolinateand Diachrome®, supported the symposium through an educational grant.
We are pleased that AADE has recognized the significantbody of evidence showing that chromium supplementation can improve insulinfunction and glucose metabolism in people with insulin resistance and diabetes, said Gail Montgomery, president and chief executive officer.
By granting continuing education credit for this importantsymposium, the AADE has taken a leading role in educating health careprofessionals about these critical findings.
