Rhodia Increases Food-Grade Phosphate Prices

CRANBURY, N.J.Rhodia Inc.announced increased list and off-list prices for its range of food-gradepotassium, calcium, ammonium and sodium phosphates, effective Oct. 1 or ascontracts allow. The increases range from 5 percent to 10 percent, depending onthe product. Rhodia reported higher operating costs as the reason behind theincrease, since the company now needs to offset increased production costs andto support continued investments, process upgrades and enhanced securitymeasures. These investments will allow the company to meet increasinglystringent customer and GMP (good manufacturing practices) requirements, according to Fabienne Saadane-Oaks, president of Rhodia Food (www.us.rhodia.com).
