PARSIPPANY, N.J.DSM Nutritional Products announced significant progress in process efficiencies and technology optimization in production of its resVida® 99 percent pure trans-resveratrol will allow the company to lower pricing on the branded ingredient, effective January 2010. Also contributing to the situation are an increased number of resVida launches in the nutraceutical and food/beverage market, following GRAS (generally recognized as safe) self affirmation, allowing improved manufacturing economies of scale.

Initial trans-resveratrol offerings had the challenge of small scale production, limited sales and high production costs, said Reto Rieder, senior marketing manager, DSM Nutritional Products. With improvements in DSMs manufacturing processes and continuous increases in demand for resVida brand trans-resveratrol, we will be able to share the reduced costs with our customers.
