A&B Ingredients ~ Pisane®

DENVILLE, N.J.-- A&B Ingredients is promoting the use of Pisane®, a high-solubility pea protein ingredient, as a single source or in combination with other protein ingredients, in a variety of functional food and beverage products for the sports and weight-control categories. Pisane is a non-genetically modified (GMO) pea protein isolate with an 80-percent solubility level at neutral pH, which will not impact color, taste or texture of finished products. It contains 88 to 90 percent protein, is gluten free, has a low allergenicity profile, and contains high levels of the amino acids L-lysine and L-arginine. It is also kosher and halal certified.

According to Gil Bakal, managing director, A&B, the company is responding to greater interest from the functional food and beverage field in reliable sources of natural fibers and proteins. "Pisanse is derived from the yellow pea via a gentle extraction process without the use of organic solvents," he said.
