Glanbia Performance Nutrition Looks to Expand

MIDDLESBROUGH, EnglandGlanbia Performance Nutrition expects to expand after record levels of growth, according to an article in The Northern Echo. The paper reports Glanbia increased by more than 50 percent since last year, and has increased its staff from 15 to 50 since 2005.
The Northern Echo said the company expects further rises in sales, increased demand for its sports nutrition and weight management ingredients, and the opportunity to hire more staff. Additionally, Glanbia hopes new investments will also boost growth.
The article quotes Keith Burn, general manager at Glanbia in Middlesbrough, who said the company surpassed expectations for growth.
Glanbia Performance Nutrition makes bars, ready-to-mix powders and drinks for the sports nutrition and weight management markets. The company was founded as Pro-Fibe Nutrition in 1993 by research chemist Matthew Richardson, and was acquired by Glanbias international parent company for £5.8m in 2006.
