IFIC Reports on Diet Disconnects

WASHINGTONThe International Food Information Council (IFIC) released results of the three-week Food & Healthy Survey of 1,000 American adults, which indicate findings generally referred to as diet disconnects. This survey is an important snapshot highlighting the gap between Americans desire to have a more healthful diet and the reality of converting this desire to day-to-day behavior, said Susan Borra, president of IFIC Foundation (http://ific.org) and a registered dietitian. We call these gaps diet disconnects. This years diet disconnects include consumer attitudes on food, nutrition and health, and include discussion on calories, diet and exercise; the importance of breakfast; good and bad fats; carbohydrates; and functional foods.
