Lonza Supplying Carnipure to Multipower

BASEL, Switzerland Lonza signed a multi-year agreement to supply its Carnipure pure crystalline L-carnitine to Atlantic Multipower, the Hamburg, Germany-based sport and functional food division of Atlantic Grupa, Zagreb, Croatia. Michael Karstens, nutritionist with Atlantic Multipower Germany, noted the company has been purchasing Carnipure for years and displays the ingredients quality seal on all products containing its L-carnitine.

Multipower offers a full line of supplemental nutrition products for athletes, and is a pioneer in the sports nutrition area in Europe. Founded in 1977, the brand encompasses three main product categories: body products for light weight training and bodyshaping with L-carnitine; active products for endurance sports that utilize proteins, carbs and micronutrients; and muscle products for muscle and strength building. The company is also the official partner of the Rhine-Ruhr Olympic training center, allowing selected Multipower products to carry the Olympia training center logo.

Lonza is a leading producer of L-carnitine, offering Carnipure crystalline and Carnipure tartrate, a non-hygroscopic form made of L-carnitine and tartaric acid. The company has supported extensive research into the benefits of supplemental L-carnitine, which can bolster fat and energy metabolism and enhance energy levels.
