AOAC Issues Call for Methods

GAITHERSBURG, Md.AOACInternational, under contract with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) andNational Institutes of Health (NIH), is working to develop a group of fullyvalidated methods, validated through the AOACs OfficialMethodsSM Program. AOAC is now looking for analyticalmethods for the following ingredients in dietary supplements, applicable to theraw material as well as the processed product: coenzyme Q10, Echinacea, garlic,eleuthero, kava kava, yohimbe and cranberry.

Interested parties can submit the reference, paper orelectronic copy of the method, as well as any available validation data, toAOAC; expert review panels and AOAC staff will use Single LaboratoryValidation Acceptance Criteria as a guide to the suitability of the methodfor further full collaborative study.
