MINNEAPOLIS--Cargill introduced a new line of soyisolates called Prolse with a bland flavor, not the "soy beanytaste" some Americans find unappealing. The high protein content of Prolseallows manufacturers to meet the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) soyprotein health claim, which permits food companies to highlight thecardiovascular benefits of soy protein. Prolse can be used in a variety ofapplications, including dairy- like products, infant formulas, processed meat, poultry and meat alternatives, baked goods and other prepared foods, accordingto the company (www.cargillsoyprotein.com).
