FDA to Consumers: Avoid "Libido Sexual Enhancer," "Rock-It Man"

WASHINGTONLooking to spice up your activities in the bedroom? Stay away from a few "sexual enhancement" products, FDA warns consumers.

In public notifications Thursday, the drug agency advised consumers to immediately stop using "Libido Sexual Enhancer" and "Rock-It Man". The products have been sold on various websites including www.vegasredpleasure.com (Libido Sexual Enhancer) and www.shopinprivate.com (Rock-It Man), FDA said.

FDA revealed its lab analysis found Libido Sexual Enhancer contains several undeclared ingredients including sildenafil, the active substance in the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra. Hydroxythiohomosildenafil, hydroxyhomosildenafil and tadalafil also were detected, according to the notification.

"These undeclared ingredients may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels," FDA stated. "Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates."

In a separate notification, FDA disclosed that its lab analysis found Rock-It Man contained the undeclared ingredient hydroxythiohomosildenafil, which is structurally similar to sildenafil.

FDA is concerned about the growing number of dietary supplements containing hidden chemicals and drugs. These products often are promoted for bodybuilding, weight loss and sexual enhancement.
