WASHINGTON Consumers should not buy or use "Ultimate Formula Bee Pollen Capsules" (Ultimate Formula), a weight loss product, FDA has advised.

FDA revealed a laboratory analysis confirmed Ultimate Formula contains sibutramine, a controlled substance that was removed from the market.

"The product poses a threat to consumers because sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some patients and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke," the agency explained. "This product may also interact, in life-threatening ways, with other medications a consumer may be taking."

Ultimate Formula is promoted on www.zixiutangsuccess.com and possibly sold in some retail stores, FDA said. On that website, Zi Xiu Tang Success LLC announced voluntary recalls of Ultimate Formula and another product called Classic Zi Xiu Tang. The company is encouraging consumers to return the recalled products for a full refund.
