JECFA Accepts Ferrochel Monograph

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich.AlbionAdvanced Nutrition - Human Nutritional Products Division (www.albion-an.com)announced the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) duringits June meeting in Rome accepted the companys monograph on Ferrochel iron amino acid chelate. JECFA will recommend to the CodexAlimentarius Commission (CAC) that Ferrochel be placed in the CodexAlimentarius at the 2004 CAC meeting.

JECFA serves as a scientific advisory body to the FAO (Foodand Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), WHO (World HealthOrganization) and CAC. It provides a source of expert advice on the safety offood additives, contaminants, naturally occurring toxicants and residues ofveterinary drugs in food.
