A New Model for Maximum Assurance: Focus on Source andContamination Control of Banned Substances

ANN ARBOR, Mich.Adulterationof dietary supplements with banned substances is one of the hottest topics insports today. In some cases, athletes may be ingesting substances that arebanned without even knowing, because there is no indication on the label.

NSF is a third-party certification organization that tests andcertifies these products, and ensures label claims are accurate. Thispresentation will review the testing and current status with the NFL/NFLPA/NSFSupplement Certification Program, as well as other programs to minimize the riskfor athletes when taking dietary supplements. It will cover the requirements,the steps of the certification process, and the responsibility and role of theindustry.
