LACEY, Wash.Aloecorp, Inc., an international grower and supplier of Aloe vera, has announced that it is the first aloe ingredient supplier in the U.S. to have GRAS status affirmed for the use of its Qmatrix® Aloe vera product in foods, beverages and supplements.
Aloecorp has conducted extensive scientific studies over the past two years to develop its GRAS dossier. Aloecorps Vice President and Chief Science Officer, Ken Jones, said: GRAS status significantly expands applications of Qmatrix® to include its use in foods and beverages. Achieving self-affirmed GRAS status for our Qmatrix® Aloe vera ingredient enables manufacturers to use our products in a wide range of foods and beverages. This allows Aloecorp to offer Qmatrix® and the many health benefits of aloe to the food industry in order to contribute to the overall health of consumers."
