PARSIPPANY, N.J.--Roche Vitamins Inc. announced it has self-affirmed its lycopene as GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) through an independent panel evaluation. Lycopene has been scientifically linked to reducing the risk of certain cancers, as well as improving prostate, lung, cardiovascular and stomach health, according to the company. Roche lycopene is available in both water-dispersible and oil-soluble forms and is suited for an array of products, including nutritional bars, beverages and dairy products. Roche (www.roche.com) noted the product is stable, easy to process and will not affect the taste profile of food and beverage applications.
