There were roughly 3,500 vendors and exhibits at Expo West 2019, and each and every one of them had to be reviewed by the show’s standards team. In this episode of the Healthy INSIDER Podcast, Sandy Almendarez, editor in chief spoke with Connor Lovejoy, assistant editor, and Alex Smolokoff, editorial coordinator, about working with the standards team at their first Expo West.

What goes on behind the scenes? What does the standards team do, and what kinds of issues do they uncover? How many people does it take to collect materials from that many vendors (the answer may be less than you’d think)?

The trio also discuss some of the trends that stood out at Expo West 2019, and which products and companies caught their eye, from Manuka honey to pay-it-forward programs.
