HONG KONGVitafoods Asia, a new event that focuses exclusively on ingredients and raw materials for the functional food and drink and nutraceutical market, will hold its fist event conference on Sept. 7 to 9, 2011, at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. Attendees will be able to meet more 100 global suppliers, and the show will offer free advice sessions with consultants from international food and nutrition policy consultancy EAS, as well as grant them access to dedicated seminars on innovations in the industry.

The organizers behind Vitafoods Europe, an event for the nutraceutical, functional foods and functional drinks industry, announced the launch of Vitafoods Asia in June 2011.

The New Products Zone allows buyers to see recently launched products. Products include Immunactive from Bioiberica SA, which is based on a proprietary formulation of nucleotides and prevents the decline of the immune system and opportunistic infections; PollenBerry by Graminex, a standardized formulation combining non-solvent Graminex G63 Flower Pollen Extract and Cranberry Extract to benefit urinary tract health; Sambucus from Natures Way, a syrup that boosts the immune system with the f the Austrian haschberg elderberry and Evonia Anti Grey Hair by Hankintatukku Oy, a mineral-vitamin tablet which  forms hair pigment to improve condition of the hair.

On the first day of the show, visitors will be treated to a traditional Lion Dance and welcome address from the Chairman of the Asean Alliance of Health Supplement Associations (AAHSA) at the official opening ceremony.

 Innova Market Insights, CNS Media and Vitafoods Asia will be presenting VitaTrend, where visitors will be able to gain unique insights into Asian Nutritional Trends. They can discover which ingredients are creating a buzz in the market and what direction the industry is headed in the future. A free copy of the presentations will be available for every visitor.

EAS Regional Regulatory Affairs Managers Wai Mun Poon and Evon Chan, together with food law adviser Elodie Lebastard, will be on hand to deliver one-on-one regulatory and strategic advice sessions regarding product formulas, labeling and claims to assist with visitors marketing plans across Asia and Europe. These free-to-attend meetings will be tailored to specific delegate requirements.

The Seminar Theatre, sponsored by DSM, will offer delegates an opportunity to hear about scientific research from exhibitors. These sessions, covering latest product developments, study finding and nutraceutical innovations, will enable manufacturers to keep abreast of the latest developments in the industry.  

Sessions include Decas Botanical Synergies who will present on Cranberry, An Efficacious Dose, Chr.Hansen with its latest clinical studies, DSM discussing The Vitamin D Renaissance and BASF / Cognis with a presentation on Building your Brand on Science-based Marketing.  Also speaking will be Danisco on probiotics that improve gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms and Biotropic Malaysia with a talk on Innovative & Clinically Proven Treatment of Acne and Dandruff with Natural Activated Virgin Coconut Oil (AVCO).
