EAS Hosts Latin America Supplement Workshop

BUENOS AIRESEAS is hosting a workshop titled "Food SupplementsSecrets of successful regulatory strategies for launching products in Latin America and Europe" on July 12, 2012, in Buenos Aires. The one-day workshop will guide companies through the steps to be followed when launching food supplement products Latin America and Europe. A panel of EAS experts will explain legislation and practices in key markets, from ingredients to national approaches to rules for health claims and novel foods.

In March, the Argentine National Administration of Drugs, Foods and Medical Devices introduced guidelines on the assessment of health claims in food advertising, a move EAS Food Law Manager Elodie Lebastard said is an example of a growing trend toward the regulation of health claims in Latin America.
