EAST WINDSOR, N.J.Sabinsa Corp partnered with Colombian company Perman to bring its LactoSpore probiotic to sliced bread. This is the first application of LactoSpore in a non-dairy product.

Providing the benefit of a quality probiotic that readily survives the beard baking process is very much in keeping with Permans mission to nourish families," said Eduardo Posada, Perman plant director.

LactoSpore, also known as Bacillus coagulans, is a shelf-stable probiotic commonly added to functional food and beverage. The strain is resistant to most chemical and physical conditions, and also survives manufacturing, shipping and storage well. The ingredient is self-affirmed Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS).
