For over a quarter century, N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) has been sold in dietary supplements. But FDA said in December 2020 warning letters that the ingredient doesn’t belong in supplements because it was first approved as a drug in 1963.

Host Josh Long, legal & regulatory editor, sits down with a roundtable of experts to weigh in on the controversy:

  • Jim Emme, CEO, NOW Health Group

  • Megan Olsen, vice president and associate general counsel, Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN)

  • Kevin Bell, partner and co-chair of the Dietary Supplements industry team,  Arnall Golden Gregory
