Capsugel Launches Licaps System

GREENWOOD, S.C.--Almost three out of four consumers in a national quantitative survey expressed a positive purchase intent when shown Capsugel's new Licaps liquid capsule product. Capsugel conducted the consumer research through focus groups and a 14-city survey to gather data on consumer attitudes and preferences for supplement
delivery systems.
According to Capsugel, the research revealed that consumers have positive attitudes toward liquids, with the majority expressing that liquid delivery forms allow for simpler, more effective absorption. When questioned about the concept of delivering liquids in the Licaps visible liquid capsule, they connected the perceived benefits of absorption with the product. Hal Goff, Capsugel's director of global marketing, noted that the company was very pleased with the results. "It's a fantastic result, especially compared with the result of 28 product concept tests involving well-known, branded consumer healthcare products, which was 51 percent," he said.
Following the survey results, Capsugel launched the Licaps delivery system. It incorporates the LEMS (liquid encapsulation microspray sealing) to contain liquids with an invisible seal. Capsugel now has a pre-filled standard line, and can offer custom formulation and turnkey manufacturing. For more details, visit www.capsugel.com or Booth #1400 at SupplySide East.
