Stratum Nutrition Launches Ops

ST. LOUIS Novus International Inc. launched a human nutrition division, Stratum Nutrition, to offer a portfolio of specialty and functional ingredients to the dietary supplement and food/beverage industries in North America and Europe. Novus will leverage its core competencies in research and innovation to support the human nutrition endeavor while maintaining its focus in the animal agriculture business.

Many of the challenges faced in animal health and nutrition are similar to the challenges we face as humans, said Jeremy Moore, director, Stratum. For instance, increasing bone strength, controlling digestive inflammation, reducing joint related lameness and building lean muscle mass are areas Novus has been very successful in helping customers with for many years. Because these same types of issues are of relevance to humans, it makes sense for Stratum to bring the Novus nutritional solutions-based business approach closer to the final consumer where a direct impact can be made on human health.

Stratum Nutrition will develop a portfolio of branded, value-added ingredients, selecting from internally cultivated systems and working with strategic partners, to launch new offerings in health categories including bone health, joint health, weight management, immune support and healthy aging.
