Kellogg Promotes Folic Acid

WASHINGTON--The Kellogg Company announced on April 4 that it will beginpromoting the heart-healthy benefits of folic acid on its cereal boxes. Folicacid is a component of many of its cereals that are designed for adults.According to the company, it is the first to promote the benefits of folic acid,in conjunction with the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) new regulationsconcerning structure/function claims and packaged foods.

Each box will display a red star and a blue banner which reads, "GoodNews for Your Heart--100% Daily Value Folic Acid, B6, B12" and will alsocarry the information on the nutrition facts panel. Visit www.kelloggs.comfor more information.
