Factors Affecting Mineral Absorption and Bioavailability

PURCHASE, N.Y.--Nutrition 21 (maker of ingredients such as Chromax chromium picolinate, Selenomax selenium yeast and Zinmax zinc picolinate) will present a VendorWorks seminar at SupplySide West about interactions between minerals, physiological factors and how certain mineral salts enhance absorption. There will also be a discussion on natural vs. synthetic minerals. The moderator will be Michael Otterburn, vice president of process development at Nutrition 21. Presenters include James Heinbach, a principal at the Environ InternationalCorp., and Judith Stern, a professor of nutrition and internal medicine at the University of Califonia, Davis.
