Roche Relaunches Newsletter, Restarts Vitamin C Plant

PARSIPPANY, N.J.--The PUFA Newsletter, aquarterly publication about healthy fats, was relaunched with support from RocheVitamins. Free subscriptions to the online-only newsletter can be obtained at www.fatsoflife.com/subscribe.asp.The newsletter was first published in 1996 and covers health conditions andtheir relationship to long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFAs).

Roche (www.roche-vitamins.com)also announced that environmental investments at its vitamin C plant inBelvidere, N.J., were completed and operations restarted in April. Commissioningand scale-up work at the company's vitamin C production facility in Dalry,Scotland, are also proceeding on schedule.

Finally, the company is taking submissions for its inauguralInternational Award for Innovative Research in Human Nutrition. The company hasestablished this 25,000 Euro award, which will be granted every two years, torecognize scientists for innovative research exploring how naturally occurringdietary bioactive compounds promote human health. Submissions will be acceptedthrough July 31, and the award will be presented at the 9th European NutritionConference in Rome in October.
