Ben and Jerry's, SlimFast Bought by Unilever

MONTPELIER, Vt.--Unilever Foods North America bought Ben & Jerry'sHomemade Inc. and SlimFast Foods Corp. Unilever bought Ben & Jerry's for$326 million and SlimFast for $2.3 billion. "Unilever is in an idealposition to bring the Ben & Jerry's brand, values and socially consciousmessage to consumers worldwide," said Richard Goldstein, president ofUnilever. The ice-cream company will stay based in Vermont.
