KEARNY,N.J.Pharmachem Laboratories Inc. provided funding to the University ofCalifornia Los Angeles (UCLA) Center for Human Nutrition to support researchinto developing low carbohydrate healthy foods using the companys Phase 2starch neutralizer; the amount of the grant was not disclosed. Kanak Udani,Ph.D., will oversee the Pharmachem project, which will focus initially on usingPhase 2 (www.phase2info.com) in bakedgoods to reduce carbohydrate impact in the body.
