ANAHEIM, Calif.—Tate & Lyle introduced its TASTEVA® Stevia Sweetener during the Engredea trade show. The natural, zero-calorie stevia sweetener offers a clean, sweet taste with no bitter aftertaste. It achieves 50% or more sugar reduction without the bitter aftertaste, even at higher usage levels.

“We know that consumers are concerned about calories but aren’t willing to give up the great taste of the foods and beverages they love," said Amy Lauer, marketing manager-North America, Tate & Lyle. “In order to develop a proprietary stevia sweetener that delivers on that demand, we put extensive sensory testing at the heart of our development process. Because the bitter aftertaste associated with other stevia sweeteners is absent with TASTEVA® Stevia Sweetener, there’s no need to use masking ingredients, which lowers the costs and complexity of formulation and leads to a simpler ingredient list for our customers."
