LA GRANGE, Ill.—Cognis Nutrition & Health noted coverage of its Tonalin® CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) in the media and nutrition publications is boosting sales and consumer awareness. Articles reaching more than 80 million consumers in publications including Prevention magazine, The Washington Post and USA Weekend discussed how CLA reduces fat and maintains muscle mass and may have long-term health benefits. Additionally, Tonalin CLA was referred to by name—the only CLA so cited—in a new book, “The Natural Fat-Loss Pharmacy” by Harry Preuss, M.D., and Bill Gottlieb.

Christine Peggau, senior marketing manager, Cognis (www.cognis.com), said new marketing data show Tonalin’s dollar market share is approximately 65 percent, compared to declines in non- Tonalin CLA product sales. “This is a powerful reminder that consumers are loyal to brands they trust,” she said. “They demand products that produce results, are backed by science and are safe. It’s great to have the popular press as well as the new book to help communicate this important message.”
