ACH Food RestructuresRice Division

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--Following a restructuring by ACH Food Companies, formerly AC Humko Corp., eight to 10 employees were laid off in the corporate headquarters offices here, according to a report in The Commercial Appeal. The global food and ingredients producer has about 225 employees in Memphis. The eliminated positions were due to consolidations and restructuring of the rice division into the food-ingredients division, a company representative said. The move stemmed from the company's sale in October of a rice-milling plant in Greenville, Miss., to Producers Rice Mill Inc., a farmer-owned cooperative. ACH will continue to market, sell and distribute rice through an agreement with Producers.
