Chr. Hansen Opens Dairy Flavors Pilot Plant

MILWAUKEE, Wis.Chr. Hansen opened a dairy flavors pilot plantwithin its North American headquarters here to offer customers quick turnaroundof scale-up projects, large sample submissions and higher quality products atthe production level. The new plant is also instrumental in applicationdevelopment in processed cheese, fermented dairy products and cheese sauces,according to the company (www.chr-hansen.com).The plant will be a key component of the companys research on flavorretention and release in natural cheese, encapsulation of spray-dried powders,and fermented and enzyme-modified flavors.
