GENEVA, Switzerland—Firmenich signed an agreement to acquire Danisco’s flavor division, while the two companies simultaneously entered a partnership to deliver comprehensive flavor and food ingredient solutions. The acquisition strengthens Firmenich’s product offerings in the vanilla, ice cream and beverage base areas; it also helps the company’s position in the citrus, naturals and dairy segments. “The purchase of Danisco’s flavor division is in line with Firmenich’s long-term strategy based on industry-leading organic growth and targeted acquisitions that complement our product portfolio,” said Jean-Marc Bruel, chairman, Firmenich (www.firmenich.com).
