January 14, 2008
LAKELAND, Fla.A three-day training seminar held in Lakeland, Fla. on Nov. 14 to 16, 2007 was hosted by Treatt USA Inc., a global flavor and fragrance ingredient specialist. The seminar provided information on various raw materials available for flavor and fragrance development. Thirty participants from 24 companies took part in sessions that included presentations on citrus processing, products and market; an insight into mint; odor evaluation of spice oils; and discussions on organic, ethically-traded products and the impact of climate change. The sessions also highlighted manufacturing techniques, such as distillation and extraction.
The flavor and fragrance raw material seminar was a huge success, said Hugo Bovill, managing director, Treatt plc. It provided valuable insights into the range of raw materials available for the creation of exciting flavor and fragrance ingredients, and the production techniques.
