EAS Hosting Functional Ingredient Workshop in Thailand
March 19, 2010
BANGKOK, Thailand EAS Asia will host a one-day workshop here on April 8 focused on regulatory and marketing issues affecting companies targeting the functional ingredient markets in Asia and Europe. EAS will review international regulatory developments affecting the health supplement business in Asia, opportunities and challenges in making health claims and accessing the market with new ingredients in key Asian markets.
Business growth in this sector is very much affected by regulatory landscape, said Daniel Tsi, EAS Asias regional director. To be successful, it is vital to have a good regulatory strategy in addition to business planning.
Tsi will serve as one of the speakers; additional presenters will be Wai Mun Poon, regional regulatory affairs manager, who will provide an overview of regulations for health supplements in key Asian markets, and Pieter Lagae, EAS Europe regulator advisory, who will explain the regulatory challenges that companies currently face when marketing food supplements in the European Union.
