Ginkgo Nut Recalled for Botulism

NEW YORK--Eastern Pacific Trading Inc. recalled its Vacuum Packed Ginkgo Nut because it may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum [a bacterium linked to botulism]. Sampled by the New York State Department of Agriculture Market, the product contains an undeclared tree nut and was distributed throughout the New York area. The nut is yellow, without an outer shell and was vacuum packed in a plastic bag without a label. Consumers were warned not to use the product even if it did not look or smell spoiled.
