Immunel Exhibits Immunomodulatory Activity

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.—Immunel™ bovine colostrum extract, from Brookings, S.D.-based Sterling Technology Inc., supports immune cells involved in anti-bacterial and anti-viral immune defense mechanisms. Sterling contracted NIS Labs to conduct in vitro studies on antioxidant capacity and impact on immune function of Immunel, whole colostrum and colostrum whey.

Data showed Immunel had more antioxidants available to protect cells compared to the other compounds. Additionally, treatment of human immune cells with Immunel increased the amount of monocytes involved in phagocytosis; increased PMN migratory activity in response to chemoattractants; and activated natural killer (NK) cells.
