NSF Awards GMP Registration to National Enzyme Co.

ANN ARBOR, Mich., & FORSYTH, Mo.--NSF International awarded good manufacturing practices (GMP) registration to the National Enzyme Co. (NEC), based in Forsyth, Mo., through NSF's Dietary Supplements Certification Program. NSF conducted a plant audit at the NEC facility to verify conformance to GMPs and will conduct periodic audits to verify continued conformity.

"National Enzyme Co. has anticipated the passage of dietary supplement GMPs for many years," said Jo Ann Peterson, director of quality assurance for NEC (www.nationalenzymecompany.com). "We have been continually reviewing and improving our processes and procedures to ensure that we exceed the standards, which will be set forth by the FDA [Food and Drug Administration]. Receiving GMP registration from NSF serves to validate our efforts."

Contract manufacturers that comply with NSF's GMP requirements may use the NSF registration mark in literature and promotional materials, receive NSF registration certificates and be listed on the NSF Web site (www.nsf.org).
