BioFach Boasts Record Participation

NUREMBURG, GermanyThe BioFachannual fair for organic products set new records for attendance, reported theInternational Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), sponsor ofthe event.

Total attendance topped 32,500, an increase of 10 percent over the number ofvisitors recorded last year. Similarly, the number of exhibitors and the squarefootage of the exhibition expanded by 8 percent and 9 percent, respectively.

More than one-third of the visitors came from abroad and twothirds ofexhibitors were international, representing 69 countries, said Bernward Geier, director for international relations for IFOAM(www.ifoam.org).

This years fair included an international discussion platform for organictrade and business, educational program and a restaurant serving organic andfair trade coffee.
