Feds Seize Ephedra Supplements from ATF

OAKMONT, Pa.U.S. Marshalsseized approximately $13,500 in dietary supplements from ATF Fitness, followingan investigation by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). ATF and FDA havebeen in discussion regarding the products since October 2004; ATF claimed theproducts were produced for a customer in Poland who has not taken delivery ofthe items, and quarantined the supplements. The products are still being held atATFs warehouse, as the company can contest the Notice of Forfeiture infederal court.

According to an ATF spokesman, there is no change in thestatus of the products from the earlier quarantine. He said the company isworking with the U.S. attorneys office to get the product embargo lifted tosend the products abroad, and added ATF is facing no fines in connection withthe products.
