FTC Amends Complaint Against Beauty Visions Worldwide

WASHINGTONThe Federal Trade Commission (FTC) approved an amendedcomplaint in a matter currently pending against defendants that include BeautyVisions Worldwide and Slimshop. The original complaint, announced in December2003, charged these and other defendants with making several false andunsubstantiated weight-loss advertising claims for two seaweed-based transdermalpatches called Hydro-Gel Slim Patch and Slenderstrip. The amended complaintdismissed Nancy Sprague as a defendant and added five new ones: KingstownAssociates and BVW Associations, and their principals, Gary Richard Bush, DavidJames Varley and Laurence Anthony White.
