WASHINGTONFTC will accept refund requests from Aug. 6 to Sept. 15 from consumers who bought Xenadrine EFX, in accordance with the recent settlement of the agency’s case against the marketers of Xenadrine EFX for making unsubstantiated weight-loss claims. The amount of the refund will depend on the number of consumers who request refunds.

Consumers who bought Xenadrine EFX between Feb. 1, 2002, and May 22, 2006, and were not satisfied with their purchase can request are fund either by downloading a claim format www.XenadrineEFXsettlement.com or by calling (800) 560-6435 to receive a claim form by mail. Consumers must complete and sign the claim form and mail it back to the Claims Administration Center at the address shown on the claim form. The Claims Administration Center must receive all claim forms no later than Sept. 15, 2007.

FTC (www.FTC.gov) also planned to run public notices on the refund program in a variety of newspapers during the month of August.
