NSF Certifying GNC Supplements

ANN ARBOR, Mich., & PITTSBURGHNSFInternational and General Nutrition Companies (GNC) announced a collaborativeagreement to have the entire GNC branded product line certified by NSF. GNC operates more than 5,300 retail outlets throughout theUnited States, including 1,360 franchise locations.

Featuring the NSF mark on GNCs dietary supplements willsend a clear message to health-conscious consumers that the products they areusing have been independently evaluated, certified and accurately labeled,said Kevan Lawlor, president of NSF (www.nsf.org). In this case, GNCscommitment goes beyond product certification, because they are also committed toeducating customers about the importance of seeking out NSF-certified productswhen they make buying decisions.
