GOLDEN, Colo.—The National Organics Standards Board (NOSB) has approved GTC Nutrition’s Nutra Flora® short-chain fructooligosaccharide product for use in organic products. The product will be included on the National List of non-organic ingredients approved for use in organic formulations; it is currently the only North American-manufactured prebiotic fiber to be included on the list. “We commend our manufacturing partners and the industry as a whole for coming together in support of the value of the prebiotics category and look forward to future innovations for NutraFlora use in organic applications,” said Patrick Smith, president, GTC Nutrition (www.gtcnutrition.com).
