RNI Receives Research Grant
PHOENIXRainforestNutritionals Inc. (RNI) was awarded a research grant by the National Institutesof Aging, a member of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), for its projectEnhanced IGF-1 (insulinlike growth factor) Production in Human Cartilage.The Phase I grant includes research that will be conducted later this year atCase Western Reserve University Hospital.
RNI has plans to launch the product, tentatively named IGFlex,in mid-2005 in conjunction with its FDA-registered manufacturing partner SaratiInternational. The product includes RNI249, which enhances IGF- 1 production byactivating a gene that becomes dormant with aging, according to RNI.
