The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) is presenting a 1.5-day online workshop titled “HPTLC: Fundamental interpretation and data analysis” on Aug. 6-7, 2024. The workshop will cover the theory and foundations of High Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC), best practices in method development and validation, setting appropriate specifications and acceptance criteria, handling conflicting certificates of analysis, and the nuances of data interpretation and analysis.
The intermediate-level workshop provides nine hours of content over two days from herbal and scientific experts in the natural product and dietary supplement industry, including:
James Kababick, director, Flora Research Laboratories
Holly Johnson, Ph.D., chief science officer, American Herbal Products Association
Wilmer Perera, Ph.D., laboratory director, CAMAG Scientific
Elan Sudberg, CEO, Alkemist Labs
Sidney Sudberg, co-founder, president and chief science officer, Alkemist Labs
The event includes presentations, Q&A with the presenters, breakout rooms and case studies.
“Innovative uses of botanicals in dietary supplements and natural products have made appropriate fit-for-purpose methods to support identity specifications for botanical materials increasingly more critical,” Johnson said. “HPTLC is a powerful analytical technique that is well-suited for the complex nature of botanical materials and extracts, but because significant expertise is needed to interpret the incredible amount of data derived from HPTLC analysis, proper training is key. AHPA’s upcoming HPTLC workshop is a valuable opportunity to learn from a distinguished line-up of herbal and HPTLC experts, and we are thrilled to offer this event virtually for wider accessibility to this crucial education.”
The fee to attend the live event is $475 for AHPA members and $750 for non-members, and group discounts are available for companies that register multiple people. Details are available from Alexis Durham, director of education for AHPA at [email protected] or by clicking here.
The workshop runs 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. PT on Aug. 6 and 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 7. A detailed schedule is provided to registered participants.
